Application for Accepting Property Donations

Please Note: Application does not guarantee acceptance. Property must meet inspections, reviewals, and approvals. The two main criteria for approval are: taxes are made current and the applicant has legal right to convey property. For any questions, please email propertydonation@lunacountynm.us.

Is the contribution complete or partial interest in the property?

*Being placed on the “Does not Qualify” means that the property does not meet the minimum requirement for the County of Luna to accept the property; however, the property will remain on our list as we develop plans to re-activate properties.

Are there any liens, encumbrances, assessments or other claims against the property, including past due property taxes?

Are there any dangerous conditions on the property, including attractive nuisances, hazardous materials or environmental liability, such as underground gas tanks or leaks?

Are there any violations of federal, state or local law on or connected with the property?

Are there any other persons or entities that have asserted or may assert a claim or interest against the property or threatened litigation?

Are there any tenants, occupants or other users of the property?

Are there any offers to purchase, sales contracts, leases or options on the property held by you and any other person?

 Applicant acknowledges and understands that property taxes imposed are the personal obligation of the person owning the property on the date on which the property was subject to valuation for property taxation purposes and a personal judgment may be rendered against him for the payment of property taxes that are delinquent together with any penalty and interest on the delinquent taxes.   The sale or transfer of property after its valuation date does not relieve the former owner of personal liability for the property taxes imposed for that tax year. If you believe that taxes are delinquent, we will record your property as “Does not Qualify”.
